This lecture series is based upon the findings presented in the third and fourth volumes of THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF TALMUDIC DISPUTES AND PERSPECTIVES: R. YOCHANAN AND REISH LAKISH. It concentrates on the perspectives and views of Reish Lakish, who was unique in that he was the only Talmudic Rabbi who is known to be a ba’al teshuvah. This aside, Reish Lakish was one of the few Rabbis who are acknowledged to be O’kerei Harim, “out of the box thinkers.” The sefer explains and categorizes in great detail (1289 pages) how these two factors molded the jurisprudential declarations of Reish Lakish. The lectures explore the qualities and the awesome responsibilities facing an O’ker Harim and the unique perspective of one who repents “through love.”
